Halloween on it's way.

There's something about Mondays I love... I think it's the simple pleasure of a quiet house, putting a little order back. Maybe sitting doing some "selfish" sewing, by that I mean something I want to sew for me, not anyone else. Maybe after lunch hand sewing in front of the telly DURING THE DAY!! Imagine!
A lovely clean bathroom - that remains undisturbed for 7hours!
Well today is a particularly good monday. It is a beautiful autumnal day, fresh, sunny and bright reds and oranges everywhere.
The Halloween dec's have been up and are now back in their box after a really lovely weekend. For once the kids went out when there wasn't a gale blowing or pouring with rain.
Earlier on in the day my nephew had a go on my sewing machine and this is what we made together. He was very drawn to the foot pedal and the "machine" aspect, but he was also very conscientious in his making and enjoyed making these pumpkins.
We cut a rectangle of felt, folded to find the centre cross. Bonda-webbed a face to the centre area. Sewed up the short sides to make a tube. Gathered in the top and bottom with stuffing inside.  Cut a kind of leafy green felt top. Then rolled up a rectangle of green felt for the stalk. FAB! Something for him to keep forever x

Our dear and lovely Miss H, who has the sweetest nature and gentle, she squeezes into cuddles when she knows someone is upset, also managed to dress up a little - much to the amusement of our trick or treaters...
SHe managed to treat herself to some toffee!! Which was accidently dropped whilst munching...
Lots of sweets, toffee apples - I didn't make as many this year so some later visitors missed out which was a shame, but that's the way it is :-(
Then Miss H did a Diana Ross impersonation... maybe that'll be her next year!
